About me:
I grew up in Buras, Louisiana and earned a Bachelors degree in Government from Nicholls State University. I went on to earn a law degree from Louisiana State University and worked as a licensed attorney for the Louisiana State Attorney General's Office in Consumer Protection. When my first child was born, I decided it was time for a career change. I chose to go into private practice mental health because I wanted the opportunity to help people in the same way I had as a consumer protection attorney, but with more flexibilty to make my own schedule as my family grew. I like to think of my career change as proof that its never too late to make a change, even a big one, and to take your life in the direction that best suits you.
I have been married for over 20 years and have three children. In my free time I love being active, especially with friends and family, and preferably outdoors. I have recently competed in a few triathlons and have completed my first half-marathon. Both of these are accomplishments I have done for the first time in my forties and I hope to inspire other women that it is never to late to make a change and become healthier or more active. I am a lifetime lover of reading, both fiction and non-fiction, and I love the smell of the inside of a library book.
